Psalms 68:6 "God sets the solitary in families:" Our family is planning on adopting. We believe God to be guiding us to this and wish to enlist prayer warriors to pray for God to "do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." Ephesians 3:20

Does anyone know about....?
Do any of you know about genetics linking schizophrenia in both the mother and father to a baby? We've been presented with another baby due Feb. 9. The mother is self-diagnosed schizophrenic with cerebral palsy and the father is diagnosed schizophrenia and has mental and emotional problems so much so he lives in some sort of care facility. I looked up schizophrenia and am having trouble finding an article I can actually read about the genetic predisposition for an infant. The Alabama baby's mother isn't communicating with anyone so she has probably changed her mind. Now what though? I am praying for clear direction in this. Will the mother in Alabama call and tell someone yes or no so we can put that out of our mind? And how do we know what God's wants with this new situation. If you could think to pray for these situations I would appreciate it. I am praying for His clear direction. Praise the Lord a possible family is found for a little boy with a serious skin condition.

We have some close friends that know much about schizophrenia (as their daughter has it along with some other needs). Email me if you want more info. I'm sure they'd be willing to share with you what they know.
We have a pretty extensive mental health history on both sides, including schizophrenia. From what I can tell, it doesn't seem to be heriditary as much as some other mental health diagnoses, such as bipolar, etc.
What a hard time/decision. I trust God will lead you to do what His will is. We will keep praying that way is clear.
