A finished project....

I started ripping my perennial garden apart (again) last summer. It was so out of control with weeds. By the time the girls and I would have it all the way clean from one end to the next, those really hard to get weeds would creep in again. I took out all the plants last year and started laying down fabric and Kevin edged it and we mulched. We cut it down by 16 feet also. It used to be 64 feet long and now it 36 feet. We cut the width almost in half.

Here is the finished product!!! It would have been finished last year but let me give some advice, buy all the mulch you need right away! We needed about 6 more bags. Kevin was in town last Fall and picked up some and it was the wrong one. Then this Spring, Kevin picked up some more and again it was wrong. Well, Menards no longer carries the mulch we bought last year so what to do!?! We were at the chiropractor and went to Pamida there and they had some that looked just like it and thankfully it matched!!!! I was happy to get the last corner done!

Right now it all looks the same but there are all kinds of colors waiting to explode with bloom. The kids got me some new ones for my birthday and they are pretty. Unfortunately, my ducks love the perennial garden and make beds for themselves in it and forage through it making a mess. I'm considering some kind of fence around the edge but it won't look quite right.

So cool that I got to see it in person on Saturday! You have such lovely children. My boys were in heaven visiting them. Too bad the rest of the family wasn't home, I hope you had fun in Fargo.
